Generally, the functioning of the journal is overseen by the Editors and the Editorial Board Members, who are eminent and competent researchers in the field, and contribute by inviting contributions and proposing expert opinions on the suitability of submissions.

Selection Criteria

The Editorial Board plays an essential role in the progress of the journal. It must be geographically diverse, having members from various regions based on their field of expertise, however, the size of the board may vary from journal to journal.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board consists of the following important positions, each contributing uniquely to the journal's success and academic integrity.

Honorary Advisors

The Honorary Advisors play an essential role in the progress of the journal. We seek their valuable suggestions for the development of the journals.

Editor-in-Chief (EiC)

The Editor-in-Chief is the leading role of the journal and makes major decisions for developing and promoting the journal. The EiC is greatly involved in all key procedures of publication including:

  • Assessing submissions for aims and scope
  • Adhering to COPE guidelines
  • Approving design and structure
  • Establishing the editorial team
  • Major decision-making for publication
  • Promoting the journal at conferences
  • Suggesting themed issues
  • Supervising the editorial team

Co-Editor-in-Chief

Assists and facilitates the EiC in peer-reviewing, revision, and finalization of articles, as well as selection of the editorial team and overall development of the journal.

Associate Editors

Assists the EiC in finalizing manuscripts, contributes one thematic issue annually, and solicits hot topics.

Regional Editors

Handles submissions from specific regions, solicits regional thematic issues, and promotes the journal locally.

Section Editors

Responsible for specialized subject sections, soliciting thematic issues in their respective fields.

Guest Issue Editor

Manages special issues around specific themes, coordinating with contributors and promoting visibility.

Executive Guest Editor

Annual Thematic Issues:

Expected to arrange the submission of one full-length thematic issue annually (8 to 10 comprehensive review articles) in hot and emerging fields.

Peer Review:

Required to peer-review articles in their area of expertise 2 to 3 times per year.

Editorial Board Members

A panel of researchers appointed for 2-3 years. Their involvement includes:

  • Peer-reviewing submitted manuscripts
  • Arranging theme issues
  • Inviting potential authors
  • Locating peer reviewers
  • Promoting the journal
  • Suggesting new board members

Associate Editorial Board Members

Young and emerging researchers or scientists at the early stage of their careers. They interaction with experts, submit and solicit articles, and promote the journal in their regions.

Potential Candidates for Membership

Guest editors, previous authors, or peer reviewers recommended by board members can be considered for membership.
